i’ve been itching to write
i’ve been so scared that all my thoughts will be lost before i can get them down on paper
imagine a rain storm
and among all the raindrops, thousands of them
there happened to be one
just one
colored aqua green
and into a puddle it fell
and for a second, the puddle was different
slightly greener as the single drop lingered on the surface
capture it she said
keep it that way forever
but before she could finish her sentence, the drop dispersed
and the puddle was as clear gray as before
nothing special
the one unique part lost forever
sunk to the bottom never to be regained

it is homely
it is mysterious
and it will always be there
and linger long after you leave
